Trump does it again, peace breaks out between Israel and neighbors

Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement praising President Donald Trump and his administration for achieving a fourth peace agreement with Israel, this time with Morocco, effectively normalizing relations between the two countries:

“Donald Trump continues to prove to be the greatest peace President in modern American history, as he has just announced a fourth peace deal between Israel and Morocco. The prior peace and normalization agreements with United Arab Emirates, Sudan and Bahrain and Israel set the stage for the opportunity of a generation to put finally the Middle East at peace. Of course, this requires that whoever is President on Jan. 20, 2021 doesn’t fumble the ball by throwing the United States back into the arms of the Ayatollahs in Iran.

“It is incumbent upon Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who has a long history of supporting Israel, to demand that a potential Biden administration move forward with a winning peace process rather than gazing back longingly to their failed policies of the past. No matter the outcome of various election disputes, today’s announcement demonstrates that Donald Trump continues to be the most consequential President this century. It would be a shame if his peace legacy was abandoned by a China-bowing Biden stuck in the 1990s foreign policy establishment construct.”

Texas Challenges Presidential Election Results in U.S. Supreme Court

ALG Urges State Attorneys General to Join Legal Challenge

Fairfax, Va. – The State of Texas has filed a lawsuit directly with the U.S. Supreme Court challenging the election procedures in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin on the grounds they violate the Constitution. Texas is asking the Supreme Court to order the states to allow their legislatures to appoint their electors.

The Texas lawsuit makes these three arguments:

  • the states violated the Electors Clause of the Constitution because they made changes to voting rules and procedures through the courts or through executive actions, but not through the state legislatures;
  • there were differences in voting rules and procedures in different counties within the states, violating the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause;
  • there were “voting irregularities” in these states as a result of the above actions.

Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning is urging state attorneys general to join the lawsuit or file a friend-of-the-court brief in support of the challenge.

“There is clear and compelling evidence the states targeted in this lawsuit violated the Constitution,” said Manning. “These states used the Covid pandemic to justify ignoring state absentee and mail-in voting laws. In flooding their states with millions of absentee ballot applications and ballots, statutory controls went out the window.

“For the sake of not only this election, but all future elections, I urge state attorneys general to support this lawsuit. If Americans don’t trust the result of this election, how can they trust the result of any future elections? Our republic is at stake.”

Texas approached the Supreme Court directly because Article III provides that it is the court of first impression on subjects where it has original jurisdiction, such as disputes between two or more states.

ALG Releases New Ad as Congress Tries to Defund Doctors

“Under a new surprise billing proposal, Democrats would actually cut resources for our frontline healthcare workers”

Fairfax, Va. – Today, Americans for Limited Government announced a new cable TV ad buy urging Congress to reject a dangerous government rate-setting proposal that would defund frontline doctors in the midst of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. Big health insurance companies and their allies in Congress are taking advantage of a massive end-of-year spending package to force price controls into healthcare. If passed, the proposal will devastate rural healthcare providers by leading to doctor shortages and hospital closures.

“Congressional Democrats clearly haven’t learned their lesson from the 2020 election,” said Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning. “Defunding those who protect us from harm is not only dangerous policy, the political ramifications are serious as well. Congress should address surprise medical billing, but massive pay cuts for our doctors on the frontlines at the height of the pandemic is not a credible solution. Defunding our doctors would only result in harming patients and our healthcare system. It is absurd that Nancy Pelosi wants to punish the very healthcare providers who have been the true heroes of this pandemic. Her callousness knows no end.”

The ad, titled “Defund,” will run in the Washington D.C. market on Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC.

ALG in Arizona Fighting for Election Integrity

Government only has legitimacy when it is formed through the consent of the governed.

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today joined more than two dozen Members and Members-Elect of the Arizona Legislature in the courtyard of the State Capitol demanding election integrity.  Manning issued the following statement:

“I am honored to be joining more than twenty Arizona state legislators who are fighting to ensure that the state’s voters are represented in the Electoral College by electors supporting the presidential candidate who won the race.  With Maricopa County in need of a full, honest audit, Gov. Ducey should take steps to delay the naming of electors until the outcome is absolutely certain. Americans should applaud these courageous legislators who are fighting to ensure that only legal votes were counted correctly.  The government only has legitimacy when it is formed through the consent of the governed.  I am proud to stand with them today.

I call on every American who wants free and fair elections in the future, to join with these Arizona lawmakers in demanding a full, honest election audit.”

China didn’t hack the election, they ran it!!!

Faifax, Va. – NTD News is reporting that a Securities and Exchange Commission filing reveals the Communist Chinese government purchased Dominion Voting Systems one month before the November 3 election.

“If true, a report that the Communist Chinese government bought Dominion voting is beyond stunning.  It appears that the Chinese government purchased one of the key electronic voting systems companies through a New York subsidiary of UBS Bank.  The subsidiary has multiple board members with deep ties to the Chinese government.  The implications of this revelation, which was first brought to light by attorney Lin Wood, are almost difficult to fathom as it calls into question everything we think we know about the integrity of our elections.

“In a nutshell, the Chinese didn’t hack our elections, they purchased the machines that processed our elections. No state with fraud contentions should certify any electors to the Electoral College as this true bombshell combined with the massive ballot box stuffing operation conducted by some local elections officials make it truly impossible to certify electors for any presidential candidate.”

Republicans must stop Pelosi’s steal of House seats in Iowa and New York

Dec. 4, 2020, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to attempts to overturn the outcomes of the Iowa 3rd Congressional District and New York’s 22nd Congressional Districts:

“It is outrageous that Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats are attempting to steal Republican-won House seats in Iowa and New York by refusing to seat the duly elected winners, Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Claudia Tenney. This is not the first time that Democrats have stolen seats in the House with the most notorious example being the 8th Congressional District in Indiana in 1984. But the simple fact is that the House of Representatives will be ungovernable for Pelosi without stealing those two seats, with only 222 Democrats currently. Pelosi has already been publicly berated by surviving members representing moderate to conservative districts for providing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her squad too much power. Now, AOC appears to have at least six total members who can impose their will on the House simply by refusing to pass any rule or bill that is not radical enough. Pelosi’s attempted two-seat steal is designed to provide her a cushion against AOC, and Republicans in Congress cannot let her get away with it.”

Scaled back Covid relief proposal would help small businesses and foster economic recovery

Fairfax, Va.— Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement on a bipartisan proposal to provide Covid economic relief:

“The compromise proposal on Covid economic relief legislation appears to be a promising framework that will ensure that the state-led lockdowns will not have another disastrous effect on small businesses by reupping the Paycheck Protection Program by $288 billion, and more broadly the economy as a whole by supporting a more rapid recovery in 2021. We look forward to seeing all of the details as the Senate, House and White House all work towards final passage.”

Congress delists non-transparent Chinese companies from U.S. exchanges

Now Labor Department must act

Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement praising Congress for unanimously voting for legislation that delists non-transparent, unaudited Chinese companies from U.S. stock exchanges:

“It is incredible news that the House has followed the lead of the U.S. Senate to unanimously make law that will delist any non-transparent, unaudited Chinese company from U.S. stock exchanges. This will undo the sweetheart deal by Joe Biden with Chinese President Xi Zinping that resulted in the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board overseen by the SEC, allowing 156 Chinese companies with market caps of $1.2 trillion to be listed on U.S. exchanges. Now that Congress has done its job, once President Trump signs this bill into law, it will be up to the federal government to implement it, including and especially Labor Department Secretary Eugene Scalia, to ensure that U.S. retirement portfolios are shielded from non-transparent, slave-holding Chinese companies that will now be delisted in the U.S. Many of these companies use child and slave labor in concentration camps. And if Chinese investments are not suitable for U.S. exchanges, then they are not suitable for American retirement portfolios either under ERISA. We thank both the House and Senate for its bold action, and President Trump for his leadership and determination to challenge China that made this law possible in the first place.”

Georgia signature verification essential to legitimacy of election

Nov. 30, 2020, Fairfax, Va.–Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging the Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to complete signature verification of absentee mail-in ballots in accordance with Georgia state law:

“Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has an affirmative responsibility to ensure that the Georgia election results reflect the actual legal votes cast in Georgia for the presidential race. There is no way to certify the results  without allowing signature verification on mail-in absentee ballots in accordance with state law. In March, Raffensperger’s office entered into a consent decree that effectively nullified the ability to determine fraudulently filed mail-in ballots. Given the massive increase of mail-in ballots from 2020 compared to 2016, it is reasonable for the Georgia government to follow the written law in order to make certain that the Covid emergency was not used as a pretense for voter fraud. While we recognize that the consent decree was agreed to under stressful times, it is clear that the interest of the people of the state of Georgia demand signature verification with 100 percent scrutiny from both political parties to put concerns about the election’s outcome to rest.”
