About

Mission

To reduce the size and scope of government to maximize individual freedom.

Vision

Americans for Limited Government is dedicated to fighting for the survival of America by restoring constitutionally limited government, allowing individuals to pursue life, liberty and happiness.

How we fight

Americans for Limited Government achieves its vision by fighting to reduce the size and scope of government, protecting individuals rights, promoting federalism, and rolling back the tyranny of the administrative state. This will put America first, foster free enterprise, and restore the rule of law.

We are leaders in identifying and exposing unique issues from the limited government perspective, and working with Congress and state legislatures to prevent the continued expansion of government.

This aggressive, non-partisan approach to the threats posed by an ever expanding government to our basic freedoms gives us the ability to honestly present the limited government perspective both inside the beltway and most importantly around the country.

We focus on fiscal responsibility, regulatory reform, transparency and shedding light on overlooked issues that impact people’s lives.  As a principled and independent organization, we hold both sides of the aisle accountable.  Although Americans for Limited Government is modest in size, it punches above its weight.  Its influence can be seen in numerous pieces of legislation and its broad media coverage.

Don’t take it from us.

“Americans for Limited Government has a history of fighting in the trenches for our freedoms and civil liberties. I am grateful to have Americans for Limited Government by my side in the fight to save America.” Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO)

“There are few people in Washington, D.C. with the experience, commitment and vision to make a difference in conservative policy and politics.   Richard Manning, and Americans for Limited Government, have a track record of accomplishments second to none.   I count on Richard and ALG as an ally in all of our conservative battles.”  Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ)

“If America had an official fire department to help preserve our liberties, Rick Manning and Americans for Limited Government could be its Captain.  Rick has the unusual combination of focus, know-how and capacity to impact fast! He fills a vital role for America’s survival in these perilous times and can move faster than most nonprofits – which is sorely needed!”   Ginni Thomas, President, Liberty Consulting

“Americans for Limited Government and Rick Manning have always spoken up for conservatives who take on the tough issues. They have had my back and that’s important in Washington, D.C., where standing on principle is usually a lonely place.”  Congressman Louie Gohmert

“Americans for Limited Government was the only group consistently fighting to stop the federal takeover of local zoning laws.  Their dogged effort made it possible for the Trump administration to end disastrous Obama administration regulations that would have had HUD bureaucrats making zoning decisions from cubicles in Washington, D.C. based upon Census maps.  ALG is one of those groups that just keeps working on big issues that don’t make headlines but matter to protecting freedom in America.”  Russ Vought, former director of the Office of Budget and Management

“I would be remiss if I didn’t thank the conservative, fearless groups like Americans for Limited Government who came in and helped us secure this [voter integrity] bill being passed and signed into law, but also all of the other measures that we’re working on. They flooded the legislature with phone calls and emails and that is absolutely crucial. This is the civil right issue of our time.” –  Jake Hoffman, Arizona state representative
