Americans Don’t Care About Biden’s Tax Returns, They Care About Their Own

Fairfax, Va. – Rick Manning, president of Americans for Limited Government, issued the following statement in reaction to Joe Biden releasing of his tax returns:

“This is nothing more than a debate diversion. Joe Biden doesn’t want to talk about the real issue, how his failed policies have hurt the tax returns of hard-working Americans in the past and will hurt them again if he’s elected president.

“Biden desperately wants to avoid talking about his almost half-century in American politics. He has a spent his career in Washington outsourcing American jobs abroad and hollowing out our nation’s manufacturing base.  Joe doesn’t want to talk about his vote for the disastrous NAFTA trade deal that set off the giant sucking sound of U.S. manufacturing jobs leaving our country.

“Biden doesn’t want to talk about his vote to give China ‘most favored nation’ trade status twenty years ago. This gave China the lowest tariff rate on the card and encouraged U.S. manufacturers to relocate to China. He certainly doesn’t want to talk about how he negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding that allowed Chinese companies to be part of the U.S. stock exchanges without meeting basic transparency and open books standards that U.S. companies must meet.  This single decision created billions of dollars in capital for China while putting U.S. investors at extraordinary risk.

“Instead, Biden wants to talk about tax returns.  One thing we know about President Trump’s tax return is that it won’t show a penny earned from the U.S. taxpayer. Trump has chosen to donate his salary to the U.S. Department of Agriculture for farmer outreach programs in the first quarter, and health related federal programs in the second, third and fourth quarters of 2019.

“Meanwhile 2019 is only the third year in almost half a century that Biden has not received a salary from the taxpayers, setting aside his very generous federal government retirement pension.

“No one cares about Joe Biden or Donald Trump’s tax returns. They care about their own tax returns. Under a Biden administration one thing is certain, more than 60% of Americans will see their taxes go up if he keeps his promise to repeal the Trump tax cuts.

“Americans will see their job prospects plummet as Biden puts the federal government boot on our energy and manufacturing sectors. His energy policies will end the energy production jobs that have revitalized Pennsylvania and Ohio among other states. Biden’s energy schemes make us dependent on middle eastern oil producers who don’t like us very much.

“When Biden talks about his tax returns, ask yourself what his green new deal, Paris Climate Accord, increased income taxes, and increased regulatory agenda will do to yours?”

Trump Still Building the Border Wall

Fairfax, Va. – In spite of Covid-19, the Trump administration is on track to hit its goal of building 450 miles of border wall by the end of this year. Currently, crews have built 341 miles and are averaging more than a mile-a-day of new wall. To date, they have used 509,000 tons of steel and 732,000 cubic yards of concrete to construct the wall.

Rick Manning, president of Americans for Limited Government, issued the following statement in reaction to the update:

“President Donald Trump continues to keep promises as 341 miles of new border security wall have been put up with the past three months averaging more than a mile a day.  In spite of constant fighting with Democrats who opposed this basic measure, the Trump administration is on pace to hit its goal of building 450 miles of wall by the end of the year.

“Protecting America from illegal immigration, the free flow of drugs across the border, and the national security threats of the open border has been a priority which President Trump has fought tooth and nail to achieve.  The President knows that you cannot have a secure America without a secure border and has expended massive amounts of political capital to keep this promise.  No one can doubt that this President has been resolute in his determination to stop the flow of illegal traffic across our border, the same cannot be said of Joe Biden.

“The Obama-Biden administration built the cages and put children in them along the southern border.  The Obama-Biden administration oversaw and encouraged the flooding of our southern border with illegal immigrants.  The Obama-Biden administration gave lip-service to southern border security while allowing the few barriers along the border to fall into disrepair.  President Trump has not only been busy building the wall, but because Mexico has begun cooperating with us and is now turning back illegal entrants, there has been a significant drop in the numbers of illegal entrants into our country.”

“What’s more, President Trump has cracked down on those who have used the legal VISA provisions under law to replace American workers with cheaper foreign labor, in many cases forcing the displaced Americans to train their replacements.”

House Dems do nothing while Pelosi blocks small business funding CARES Act renewal

Sept. 28, 2020, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement blasting vulnerable House Democrats who were only elected in 2018 for not doing more to push House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to renew the payroll protection program for small businesses in the CARES Act, which ran out of money on Aug. 8:

“Since labor markets bottomed in April after the Covid lockdowns, 13.8 million jobs have been recovered according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and one of the biggest reasons was because the Trump administration and Congress worked together on the CARES Act, that provided $525 billion to 5.2 million small businesses, which may have saved as many as 50 million jobs. But funds for this small business saving program ended on Aug. 8 as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has blocked any renewal, while House Democrats have done nothing to persuade her to work with Senate Republicans to get an extension with 11 million jobs still on the sidelines. The only way the remainder of the jobs lost in the state-led pandemic lockdowns will be recovered is by providing support to safely reopen the economy and schools, something Nancy Pelosi will not allow to happen so long as she remains Speaker and those who elected her Speaker are directly responsible for this reckless course. House Democrats clearly oppose reopening the economy in this vital time, and they own  Pelosi’s policy of leaving the country shut down forever destroying the hopes and dreams of millions of working families.”

ALG urges immediate confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett

Fairfax, Va.–Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement praising President Donald Trump for nominating Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court and urging immediate Senate confirmation:

“President Donald Trump has fulfilled his constitutional responsibility to nominate Amy Coney Barrett for a seat on the Supreme Court. Coney Barrett is highly qualified jurist and would make an outstanding associate justice. Her background demonstrates just the kind of fortitude and judicial restraint that the American people expect from their courts.

“President Trump’s strong record of choosing federal judges has been transforming our nation’s courts to a more originalist and Constitution-based system as it was always intended. It is our fervent hope that Coney Barrett will bring that same judicial philosophy to the Supreme Court to interpret the law as it is written and intended, protecting individual freedoms as enumerated in the Constitution from legislative, executive or judicial tyranny. We urge the Senate to move rapidly on this nomination and to confirm Coney Barrett before the election.”

U.S. Rep. Posey legislation blocks CARES Act funds from going to Communist China’s slavery and concentration camps

Sept. 25, 2020, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in support of H.R. 8331, the “Accountability for CARES Act of 2020” by U.S. Rep. Bill Posey (R-Fla.) that would block CARES Act funds from going to Chinese companies:

“Congressman Posey is holding Communist China accountable for its abhorrent human rights record, concentration camps, forced slave and child labor, organ harvesting, crushing Hong Kong and threatening Taiwan with legislation that blocks any pandemic-related economic assistance in the CARES Act to be given to any business with ties to China. Without such taxpayer protections, hundreds of millions of dollars are potentially flowing to businesses either controlled, operated or owned by the Chinese Communist Party.

“We applaud and thank U.S. Reps. Posey, Gaetz, Spano, Weber and Cloud, whose legislation protects national security, holds China to account and blocks U.S. tax dollars from funding slavery and concentration camps in one of the most tyrannical regimes in human history. Every member of Congress should support this common-sense provision, and leadership of both parties should ensure that it is included in any phase four legislation.”

Manning: Attacks on Judge Barrett ‘Repugnant anti-religious bigotry’

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today joined a group of 106 national conservative leaders in condemning the attacks on President Trump’s potential Supreme Court nominees, including Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Amy Coney Barrett.

Statement from the Conservative Action Project:

The Constitution mandates that there is no religious test to hold public office, and we reject the so-called “critiques” of Barrett’s faith which merely act as a guise under which that test is applied.

Judge Barrett was already subjected to outright anti-Catholic bigotry from Senator Dianne Feinstein in her confirmation hearing for the Seventh Circuit in 2017. “The dogma lives loudly within you,” said the senator, openly asserting that Barrett’s Catholic faith would prevent her from fulfilling her role as a neutral arbiter. Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) took issue with Barrett’s use of the term “orthodox Catholic” in an article she authored as a law student.

This type of open condemnation of people of faith has become par for the course among Senate Democrats, and a willing media which abets them. Senator Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) inferred that OMB Director Russell Vought was anti-Muslim for holding basic Christian beliefs about salvation. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) believes membership in the Catholic service group, Knights of Columbus, should disqualify one from judicial service.

Such attacks are not “vetting.” They are not sincere efforts to determine a nominee’s jurisprudence. They are grotesque distortions of the Constitution, of America’s long and legally protected tradition of religious liberty, and a repugnant display of anti-religious bigotry.

We condemn the attacks on Judge Barrett and all of the president’s nominees for public service.

Just Say No to Quick-Fix Medical Pricing

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging President Trump to reject one-size-fits all medical pricing schemes:

“One-size-fits-all medical pricing is a dream come true for Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders and AOC who want health care nationalized.  This quick but deadly fix for the Obamacare created surprise medical billing issue seems simple, put a flat price on all medical services across the nation, but instead it is a nightmare which will end many health services in rural areas.  Don’t believe me, look at what has happened to California where this government rate setting was put into place.  Rural areas, Donald Trump’s base, found themselves with fewer and fewer health service providers to access, for the simple reason that rural health care is more expensive to provide than suburban care.

“For years America has struggled with health care disparity between urban and rural areas, and imposition of the Pelosi one-sized fits all rate plan will make it much worse.  What’s worse is that once the federal government controls the pricing of both medicines and medical services, any vestige of an honest health care system is wiped away.  We have all witnessed the power of controlling health care during this Chinese virus crisis, but imagine the horror when DC bureaucrats are setting medical services prices at rates where they become unavailable at any cost.

“President Trump should just say no to one-size-fits-all medical services rate setting remembering that the citizens it hurts most are those who gave him his 2016 victory.”

Biden Sleaze: Like Father, Like Son

Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement responding to a new report by the Senate on “Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Corruption: The Impact on U.S. Government Policy and Related Concerns” by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and Senate Committee on Finance:

“The report released this morning contains the least surprising, shocking revelations in history. Anyone paying attention to the Joe and Hunter Biden’s activities in Ukraine knows that Hunter Biden made a fortune representing a corrupt company, Burisma, and that then-Vice President Biden used his influence to get a Ukrainian prosecutor fired who was investigating Burisma for corruption.

“It is also not surprising that Joe Biden abused his position as Vice President when he brought his son, Hunter, to a meeting with Chinese officials after which the young Biden got a $1 billion investment deal with no qualifications except his daddy’s office. Now more than six months after Pelosi’s political impeachment was dismissed as nothing more than garbage, the truth is being fully exposed about the corrupt dealings which the impeachment was intended to obscure. If Joe Biden committed a crime selling the office of Vice President, it would be insane for the public to ever entrust him with the Oval Office.”

President Trump takes on China’s human rights abuses in UN speech

Sept. 23, 2020, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to President Donald Trump’s speech yesterday to the United Nations:

“President Trump laid the wood to the Communist Chinese regime at the United Nations.  The President chastised the Chinese over their decision to export the coronavirus to the world while stopping flights and travel from its point of origin to the rest of China and urged the world to hold them accountable.

“The President then continued by reminding the United Nation’s delegates that China leads the world in carbon emissions, nearly twice those in the U.S., hitting China in their polluted soft underbelly.

“Beijing is a government which allows unprecedented amount of pollution, enslaves its own people, encourages forced organ transplants from live political and religious dissidents and minorities, and forces millions of minorities into concentration camps.

“It is astonishing that the world tolerates the Chinese government on the world stage. But what is even more astonishing is that America’s Wall Street continues to pour our nation’s retirement, government and private investments into China, propping up their house of cards economy.

“Let me be clear, just as President Trump called on the United Nations to hold China accountable, it is unconscionable that America’s financial titans proceed with business as usual making Americans who entrust them into unwitting Chinese slaveholders.  Wall Street needs to listen hard to President Trump’s UN address and search their souls as to which side of the moral fence they wish to stand.  In this nation, there is no place for those who not only tolerate slavery but fund and profit from it.  It is time for America to www.DivestChinaNow.org.”

Ginsburg mourning no reason to not confirm successor

Sept. 18, 2020, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement responding to the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg:

“Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg harkened back to a time when Americans could oppose each other on policy while maintaining cordial and friendly relationships with those they disagreed with — and she will be rightly mourned.

“While the passing of a Supreme Court Justice is always fraught with political intrigue, the election season makes this choice even more significant. With the President’s history of transparency and his recent announcement of potential appointees to the Supreme Court for public scrutiny, the constitutionalist judicial philosophy of any of his appointees is clear.

“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell should take every step possible to expeditiously confirm any nominee President Trump should announce to replace Justice Ginsburg. This is a somber time for our nation but that does not relieve the President or the Senate of their responsibility to fill Justice Ginsburg’s seat.”
