Google ‘hypocrite,’ top result: Jack Dorsey

Get that man a mirror!

Fairfax, Va. – This week the official policy arm of Twitter tweeted a strong rebuke of the government of Uganda for blocking social media apps in the run-up to an election in that country. This comes just days after Twitter banned President Donald Trump for life. Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning issued the following statement in reaction:

“When you google the word hypocrite, you might be surprised to see the image of scruffy Silicon Valley billionaire named Jack Dorsey as the first result. Dorsey, who just spent three months banning points of view he doesn’t agree, had the audacity to complain about Uganda doing the same thing.

“Perhaps someone should get Dorsey a mirror. While I have no expectation that his behavior will change, at least he might shave and comb his hair.”

Greenwald says Capitol riot ‘planning was largely done on Facebook’

Amazon, Google and Apple owe Parler reinstatement and restitution

Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government Rick Manning today issued the following statement responding to reporting from journalist Glenn Greenwald that “planning [of the Capitol riot] was largely done on Facebook,” not Parler:

“Liberal journalist Glenn Greenwald reports that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was largely planned on Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook. While Silicon Valley Big Tech has baselessly taken down Parler.com and banned the app from smartphones, the truth is that, according to Greenwald, not a single user of Parler has been arrested for their involvement in the Capitol riot. Just as it was wrong to take down Parler, it would be equally wrong to destroy Facebook’s availability due to their platform’s being used as an organizing tool for political violence.

“If Amazon, Google and Apple held Facebook to the same standards that they’ve falsely held Parler to, Zuckerberg’s company would now be similarly deplatformed. Americans for Limited Government abhors Big Tech’s knee-jerk abuse of power against Parler on false claims that they were advocating violence. Those companies that arbitrarily cost Parler — a rapidly emerging competitor to Twitter — millions of dollars should immediately take action to reinstate Parler’s presence on their platforms, and to settle the lawsuit Parler has filed against them. The lesson America should learn from Big Tech’s abuse of political power is that these companies need to be subjected to antitrust actions to prevent their market dominance from again being misused in the future.”

“Courts Must Immediately Stop Big Tech Censorship,” Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning, Jan. 9, 2021

Courts Must Immediately Stop Big Tech Censorship

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning issued the following statement in reaction to Big Tech collusion to censor competition.

“The collusion of Amazon, Apple and Google to shut down the social media sharing site Parler – Facebook and Twitter’s competition –  is a continuation of their attack on the free expression of ideas.  Silicon Valley has moved from being a model of American innovation to being arbitrary arbiters of thought.  Their actions to shut down competing ideas must be met with immediate state and federal anti-trust action, which the Supreme Court should hear as soon as they are filed.  The actions Amazon, Apple and Google have taken are dangerous and show that the concentration of power in their hands has turned them into tyrants deciding what people should see and think. These companies should cease and desist from their abuse of power immediately.”

Removing Trump right now would light a fuse and endanger the Union

Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning  today issued the following statement cautioning against removing President Donald Trump from office in his final days, either by Congress or the Cabinet, as doing irreparable damage to the Union:

“Those who are seeking to politicize and exploit the tragic storming of the Capitol yesterday are playing a dangerous game. What happened yesterday was a national tragedy and must never happen again. Political violence can never be justified. Rather than further dividing the country more than it already is, it is time to help the country to heal and move forward so that the orderly transition of power can occur as it should. If Congress or the Cabinet were to even try, let alone succeed in removing President Trump from office in the final days of his term, millions of Americans will be disenfranchised, further dividing the nation and undermining the Union and lighting the fuse of a dangerous powder keg that may be impossible to snuff out. It is an abyss that must be avoided at all costs.

“Everyone is familiar with the Democrat axiom to never let a good crisis go to waste, let me be clear to everyone considering playing politics as usual, this is not a “good crisis” it is an existential threat.  As DC politicians consider any rash, precipitous move, I would urge them to review the words that the President actually spoke at the rally on January 6, “We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” [emphasis added]

Prior to the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, at his national mall speech, President Trump explicitly called for protesters to be peaceful.

While people were still inside the Capitol at 3:13pm on Jan. 6, President Trump immediately denounced the violence and urged everyone to remain peaceful: “I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!” [emphasis added]

We Will Stand in the Breach

We Hope Others Join Us in the Fight for Liberty

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s affirmation that there will be an orderly transfer of power on January 20th.

President Trump’s affirmation that there will be an orderly transfer of power on January 20th is an important statement confirming what each of us who has supported the President always knew would occur once every legal recourse was exhausted. Sadly, Joe Biden will become president in spite of his fraudulent ascendency to office.

“The President is also right not to concede, because it would be tantamount to accepting fraud.  Americans have faced four years of the left’s resistance to the honest election results of 2016, and we have a responsibility to engage in peaceful but vigorous resistance to any and all actions which threaten the individual rights of Americans using all legal means at our disposal.

“It is my hope that President Trump plays a big role in keeping our nation focused on the now expanded threat from Communist China, the need to put America first in trade deals and other relationships around the world, his dedication to American energy independence and the free market system. I hope he will continue his incredible work in bringing peace between a significant part of the Arab world and Israel. I hope will lead efforts to restore the rule of law as it pertains to our elections, re-establishing the principle of one person, one vote so that the legitimacy of our federal government can be restored.

“But that is his choice.  As for Americans for Limited Government, we will continue to stand in the breach, and hope that others will stay in the fight for liberty by joining us.”

Protesters in Washington D.C. should cease and desist from violence

Jan. 6, 2021, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement echoing President Donald Trump’s call for protesters in Washington, D.C. to “Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!”:

“Americans for Limited Government calls upon all attendees at the Save America rally to cease and desist from provocative actions which inevitably will lead to violence. We share the frustration about the blatant theft of the presidency. However, violence begets violence and any aggressive actions will be utilized by the radical left which will soon control the White House as an excuse to engage in draconian measures and to curtail liberties. Once again, the immense frustration created by the collapse of a legal means to fight fraud, when cases are simply dismissed without hearing evidence, is understandable and shared. But the truth is that the very same people who control the media, corporations, the legal system and soon the White House and Congress who ignored violence against Trump supporters for more than four years will use any rioting at the Capitol as a proof point to prosecute anyone for supporting Donald Trump for President. I share everyone’s concern that basic individual freedoms in America will never be restored in the wake of the blatant abuse of power in this election and lack of any response by institutions charged with protecting individual liberties and freedom, however, violence at this juncture guarantees that the bright shining hope of America will not be restored either.”

Congress Will Give Full Debate Time to Electoral College Objections

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning issued the following statement about the Jan. 6 Electoral College Vote Certification:

“I am pleased that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will treat objections to the recognition of electors with the seriousness and sobriety that they deserve. This means that Congress will spend two hours debating the objection of each state whose slate of electors are formally objected. If Republicans challenge the vote in all seven states whose election results are in dispute — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — the vote count could easily go into Thursday.

This is not about partisanship. It is about preventing a campaign which relied upon massive fraud on election day and after to be rewarded with the presidency of the United States.

Sen. Ted Cruz’s proposal that the Senate set up an election fraud commission to evaluate the facts is a common-sense approach if Congress truly wants to make certain that they get it right. If the Senate Majority Leader and the House Speaker fail to provide the legally allotted two hours of discussion for each state’s electors that are objected to, they will be rubber-stamping fraud and doing violence to Congress’ unique role and their final stop gap against an unlawfully won election.”

End Court Packing Threat

Support Keep Nine Constitutional Amendment

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning issued the following statement in support of a constitutional amendment to protect the U.S. Supreme Court from a court packing threat from Democrats.

“Congressional Democrats have promised to pack the Supreme Court if they take control and Joe Biden’s fraud-ridden election stands.  Senate stalwarts like Ted Cruz, Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are leading the charge to end this threat by amending the U.S. Constitution to specify that the number of Supreme Court Justices will be nine, ending the court packing threat once and for all.

“While Washington, D.C. is roiled in political uncertainty, incoming Arizona state representative Jake Hoffman has taken the bull by the horns by introducing a resolution calling for Congress to pass this constitutional amendment.  Hoffman, a rising star in conservative, constitutional political circles has gotten the support of virtually every state representative and state senator, including the Speaker of the House, Senate President, House Majority Leader, Majority Whip, Speaker pro tem, Senate President pro tem, and Senate Majority Leader.

“Packing the Supreme Court is the exact kind of power play America can expect should Democrats take control of the Senate with Joe Biden in the White House. And on January 5, the state of Georgia will decide whether Chuck Schumer’s court packing dream will become a reality when they elect not one, but two U.S. Senators in a run-off election.  Americans for Limited Government stands firmly in favor of Georgia Senators Loeffler and Perdue’s re-election and urges Congress to have the courage to vote for the rightfully elected Trump slates.

“Incoming Arizona state House member Jake Hoffman has courageously led the way in this fundamental battle to preserve an independent judicial branch of government.  It is time for other state legislators around the country to introduce and bring forward the same resolutions through their capitols, so Congress can see that America is demanding that they end their threat to pack the Court.”

Congress Must Fight Election Fraud

January 6 will test integrity of GOP lawmakers

Fairfax, VA. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning issued the following statement regarding the January 6 electoral college vote certification by Congress.

“America needs to demand that Congress stand up to the election fraud which denied President Trump his earned victory on November 3rd by recognizing President Trump’s electors over the fraudulently certified votes for Biden.  January 6 is the day that this decision will be made, and it will be a test of the integrity of those who are elected to serve in Congress.  Some may think that things just go on as usual should GOP members of Congress fail to stand up against the fraud, but they won’t.

“Any GOP member who refuses to support the President’s rightful claim that the election was stolen in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Wisconsin, needs to ask themselves a simple question, ‘If you won’t fight for election integrity in a presidential election where the steal was in plain sight, why would anyone fight for you when your next election is stolen on a much smaller stage?’  The answer is, they won’t.  Democrats won’t care if you vote with them to give them control of the White House, they will still steal your seat if allowed to get away with a theft that would make notorious bank robber Willie Sutton blush.  Once you kneel to those who believe that ballot box stuffing, multiple voting, and even machine vote switching is legitimate electioneering, the very concept of free and fair elections is dead, and when you ask for the people’s vote in the future, they will ask, ‘Why bother?  Why should I go out and fight the cancel culture for your dreams and ambitions, since they don’t include making certain that the one-person-one-vote rule of law is upheld.’

“For GOP House and Senate members, the election theft Rubicon has been crossed by the extreme Left. The laws of states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, and Wisconsin were not just ignored but were effectively overturned by state officials without legislative assent.  If the state election laws don’t matter during election time, then Congress cannot accept those results as legitimate, particularly when there is evidence well beyond any legal threshold to know that a multi-state vote tampering scheme was used, and Congress is all that stands between its success or failure.

“It is hard to be courageous in the face of the physical and psychological intimidation each GOP member is facing from the mobs in the street and the mobs of the social media companies.  But these elected officials asked for the job, now they must do their constitutional duty.  They took an oath and must now follow it by recognizing the Trump electors on January 6.”

Santa Claus government must end, no more checks

Dec. 28, 2020 Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging Congress to reject any additional checks for American households after President Donald Trump signed Covid relief legislation providing $2,400 to an average family of four:

“While our nation has faced a unique set of circumstances due to the Chinese virus and the impact on our economy, it is time for the federal government to stop playing Santa Claus with money that we don’t have. The average family of four has already received $3,400 under the CARES Act, and now under the just-signed Covid relief bill they’ll receive an additional $2,400 — a combined $5,800 in direct payments this calendar year alone. In the future it may be necessary to support industries and small businesses that continue to be negatively impacted by state government economic lockdowns, however the impulse to send everybody another check whether for $2,000 or any other amount should be resisted the same way that taking another hit on a highly addictive drug should be. It may feel good when you do it, but it’s bad for you and everyone knows it. With the vaccine being distributed, the federal and state governments need to be planning reopening strategies, and any additional stimulus should be directed to ensuring that people get back to work, rather than bailing out governments or pretending there’s a money tree sitting outside the Capitol.”
