ALG urges Florida Gov. Rick Scott to ensure voter and ballot integrity

Nov. 7, 2016, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging Florida Governor Rick Scott to do everything necessary to ensure voter and ballot integrity in Florida for Election Day:

President Barack Obama’s call for illegal aliens to vote with assurances that there would be no legal ramifications if they break the law amounts to nothing less than electoral nullification. Every illegal vote cancels out a citizen voters voice effectively challenging the core binding American social contract that elections should at least retain the appearance of fairness.

“In Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe’s attempt to fix the election in the Commonwealth by pardoning up to 60,000 selected individuals making them eligible to vote and then sending those McAuliffe enfranchised people voting information with postage paid return envelopes reeks to high heaven. This attempt to change the eligible electorate to benefit Clinton through executive fiat is repulsive.

“And Broward County, Florida, local elections officials were caught red-handed marking stacks of blank absentee ballots.  The whistleblower was fired and in the very close and likely decisive state of Florida, the integrity of the results have been thrown into doubt.  Given the stakes, Florida Governor Rick Scott should immediately act to put state officials in charge of ballot security in Broward with all absentee votes treated as provisional ballots to be hand counted after the machine votes have been recorded.  While no one wants hanging chad moments, the allegation of massive voter fraud by Broward election officials must not be ignored, and the only fair way to ensure that actual voters are not having their will nullified by corrupt partisan local officials is to closely examine those absentees for irregularities throwing out votes that were clearly cast by the same person.

“Voter fraud is cancelling out someone else’s legal vote and it needs to be prevented.  In Florida, Governor Rick Scott must act to protect the integrity of the vote as the already scandal plagued Broward County Supervisor of Elections actions threaten the very legitimacy of the elections and every absentee ballot must be given thorough scrutiny.”

Economy stuck in the mud at 1.7 percent for the year, time for a change

Oct. 28, 2016, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to the GDP numbers, which show an average 1.7 percent inflation-adjusted growth annualized through the first three quarters of 2016:

“Through three quarters, the U.S. economy is growing at just a 1.7 percent rate annualized, which still stinks.

“The continued annualized slow growth rate underscores the impacts of Obama’s and Hillary Clinton’s regulatory regime which is strangling our economy.  Obama’s America is not providing economic opportunity and hope and instead is engaged in a slow, planned downward spiral.  He says Clinton will continue his legacy. As if that would be a good thing.

“The stunning fact is that the U.S. economy has not grown at more than 4 percent since the year 2000, and has been sick since 2005, the last time it topped 3 percent.

“2016 will be no different and that’s the real story. It has been a lost decade of opportunity for millions of Americans. We had the most highly educated generation ever and we’ve squandered it, producing jobs at a much slower pace and making it more difficult for younger Americans to get their start. In the meantime, the only real growth to be found is overseas, where all of our jobs are headed. It is time for a change, and that starts with increasing production here, and focusing on America first.”

Hillary should be perp-walked for disclosing nuclear weapons secret launch time

Oct. 21, 2016, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement blasting Hillary Clinton for revealing the nuclear weapons launch times in the last debate where she said, “The bottom line on nuclear weapons is that when the president gives the order, it must be followed. There’s about four minutes between the order being given and the people responsible for launching nuclear weapons to do so”:

“Hillary Clinton violated the law and put national security at risk on national television by disclosing how long it takes to launch our nuclear weapons. Her defense is that this information was already in the public domain. While that may be true, here’s the rub. Nobody has ever officially verified how long it takes to launch the nukes.

4-star General James Cartwright was just forced to plead guilty for authenticating classified information that was in the public domain, exactly what Clinton did on television. Once again, Clinton is being held to a separate standard.

“Due to Clinton’s reckless behavior, every American is less safe from nuclear strike, as Vladimir Putin now knows how long it takes the U.S. to mobilize a retaliatory strike. She might as well have sent him an email while she was at it. For this one act alone, if Hillary Clinton were a mere 4-star general, she would be perp-walked and jailed. It is outrageous that Hillary Clinton remains on the ballot for the presidency when he has repeatedly shown complete and utter disregard for the national security of the United States of America, proving she is the only dangerous candidate. She should be disqualified.”

Trump should sue: The election system is rigged, with millions of ineligible non-citizen, dead and multi-state voters

Oct. 20, 2016, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging Donald Trump to sue states that refuse to fix the nation’s broken election system that fails to automatically purge non-citizens, dead people and multi-state voter registrations from state voter systems:

“Donald Trump needs to immediately file federal lawsuits to compel states to remove all ineligible voters from voter rolls across the country in every single state. All non-citizens, dead people and multi-state registrations need to be purged, and they need to be purged now. If, as Democrats purport, there are no ineligible voters or any possibility to engage in voter fraud, they will agree to the process without any contest. If they refuse and challenge the suit, then where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Why would Democrats refuse to purge ineligible voters from voter rolls?

Emails reveal Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta clear as day saying that when folks show up to vote, as long as they present a driver’s license and simply attest they are citizens, it’s okay if they vote. As if that settles the matter. That is shameful, but the truth is, we’re relying on an honor system to keep non-citizens from voting. Non-citizens need to clearly understand that it is a violation of federal law for them to vote, and if caught it will harm any hope they have of attaining citizenship.

“Sadly, the current honor system is anything but secure, instead it is a system that is ripe to be rigged as Democrat Party operatives openly admitted their intent to subvert the one person, one vote basis of American elections, a clear violation of equal protection. States need to be legally required to clean up the voter rolls, and where they refuse or local and state officials simply look the other way while ineligible voters cast ballots, they should receive the equivalent of a post-election colonoscopy to ensure that foreign powers and illegal voters did not influence the outcome.  In a world where everyone looks the other way, and smart political operatives like Podesta openly discuss exploiting the vulnerability to free and fair elections. An honor system cannot work when one of the parties simply has no honor.

“Nobody knows how many non-citizens are on the voter rolls. The fact is, neither states nor the Federal Election Commission are required by law to verify citizenship when non-citizens register to vote, even though it is illegal for non-citizens to register. And states do not verify citizenship when non-citizens show up to vote, even though it is illegal for non-citizens to vote. That, even though states are required to maintain digital voter lists and purge ineligible voters, including the dead, felons and those who move out of state, from the rolls. But not non-citizens. They are somehow exempt from being purged from voter rolls. What a joke. Can you say rigged?

“As for dead voters, there’s 1.8 million on the rolls according to Pew Charitable Trust, and 2.75 million registered in more than one state. They’re supposed to be purged. What’s the hold-up? As for non-citizens, the Public Interest Legal Foundation has discovered in just 8 Virginia counties more than 1,000 ineligible non-citizens on voter rolls, highlighting that the problem is likely systemic and nationwide. Something must be done.

Investigative video shows Clinton operatives like Scott Foval openly discussing an interstate voting fraud plot where out-of-state fake voters are brought into states like Wisconsin to vote via same-day registration, claiming it’s been done for fifty years. This is a part of the secret history of Democrats stealing elections. What’s news is James O’Keefe managed to get an influential Democratic operative to admit how it’s done on camera. Groups feign outrage, and so Foval was fired from Americans United for Change, but he’s just an example of the win-no-matter-what mindset on the left. All of which proves why same-day registration needs to be banned and voter id and citizenship verification required nationwide. Enough is enough.

“It is the actions of these Democratic operatives that threaten the legitimacy of the electoral process, and for the left to try to cast Donald Trump as the villain because he is demanding clean, honest elections is an affront to every American who votes once and expects their vote to count the same as everyone else’s. Women and blacks have fought for the right to vote, against discriminatory poll taxes and other impediments, it must be a shock to their system to realize the level of corruption which effectively turns them into a fractional person by partially negating the impact of their vote.

“Donald Trump should sue in court to compel states to remove all ineligible voters from voter databases to protect this one-person, one vote law and end the Democrats perversion and distortion of the law in a craven desire for power. It is time to force Democrats to defend the indefensible.”

Alleging Russia is stealing the election while bringing the country to the brink of war is far more dangerous than complaining about dead people, non-citizens voting

Oct. 17, 2016, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to ludicrous claims that Donald Trump is somehow calling for revolution by questioning the continued voter fraud of dead people and non-citizens voting:

“The ludicrous claims by Hillary Clinton and her White House surrogate against Donald Trump’s rhetorically questioning whether the system and hence the election is rigged are ironic given that Wikileaks clearly showed that Bernie Sanders never had a chance when facing the Hillary machine in charge of the Democratic Party.

“What is shocking is that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are guilty of engaging in the most dangerous rhetoric imaginable, making the case that Vladimir Putin is somehow stealing the election against a real backdrop of bringing the U.S. to the brink of war with Russia over Syria. I’m getting sick of Hillary Clinton’s sins being cast on the Republican nominee. Alleging Russia is stealing the election while bringing the country to the brink of war is far more dangerous than issuing legitimate concerns about dead people and non-citizens voting.

“The media is preposterously claiming Trump is somehow creating a predicate for armed revolution by seeking an honest voter fraud free election. Yet, it is the predicate being created by Clinton and Obama — claims of a supposed Russian intervention via election espionage — which are intended to attack the legitimacy of a Trump victory. What are they going to do when he wins, overturn the election?

“Obama and Clinton are playing brinksmanship with nuclear potential while threatening to delegitimize the election’s outcome, all the while covering up and discrediting Wikileaks releases that show real, high-level corruption by the Clintons and the utter contempt that the Democratic nominee has for the rule of law and the American people. It is irredeemably irresponsible and yes, dangerous. The Wikileaks releases showing widespread collusion of the media with Clinton and her operatives has powerfully demonstrated that the political playing field is, in fact, heavily tilted against a Trump win. When Google and Facebook’s strong preference for Clinton are added, it is fair to question whether Trump’s message will even be allowed to reach the electorate while the country quietly falls under one-party rule.

“Fortunately the American people are seeing through these media manipulators and Trump remains in a dead heat as they reject the one-party apparatus that desires nothing more than retaining its power. The people are ignoring the noise and going around the media and Internet filters that have collapsed.”

Ryan, McConnell need to tell Obama no Syrian war

Oct. 14, 2016, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to reports that the White House is considering military options in Syria without any authorization to use force being adopted by Congress:

“Any military action by President Obama in Syria must have the approval of Congress under Article One of the Constitution. Failure of President Obama to seek such approval puts into question his fitness to lead. In 2013, Obama sought and Congress explicitly did not vote to authorize force in Syria.

“If Obama wants a war with Russia so badly, he should call Congress into special session to make his case and to vote on it. If he proceeds with any military options against Russian and Syrian targets without Congressional assent, the consequences could be too dire for any of us to contemplate. It is incumbent on House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader McConnell to immediately state publicly their opposition to any military action in Syria without an affirmative vote of Congress, as the Constitution requires.”

Wikileaks smoking gun proves Clinton emails deleted after Congressional subpoena was issued

Oct. 13, 2016, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement noting the timeline of deleting Hillary Clinton’s emails on her private email server apparently occurred after a Congressional subpoena was served on those records on March 4:

“Hillary Clinton would lie if it were in her interests to tell the truth. The fact that there was a criminal conspiracy in the State Department to delete Clinton’s emails the same day the Congressional subpoena for those records was served, shows that Clinton’s cover-up, where she claimed the emails had been deleted for months, would have made Richard Nixon blush. This is a smoking gun The emails apparently were not deleted until they were prohibited by law not to be deleted. This is destruction of evidence, which in itself is criminal. Given this information, the Department of Justice must appoint a special prosecutor today to investigate Clinton, her team, and the Justice Department that covered it up of obstruction of justice in order.

“Where is the generation of journalists that was supposedly inspired by Watergate? Do your jobs.”

Trump should stand with Sheriff Joe in Arizona

Oct. 12, 2016, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President today issued the following statement urging Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to stand with Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona:

“We live in an upside down world, where the U.S. Government is threatening to jail Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio for following and enforcing our nation’s immigration laws. In the meantime, the same Justice Department has refused to prosecute Hillary Clinton for breaking our nation’s security laws. If I were advising Donald Trump, I’d encourage him to go to Phoenix, Arizona, and stand by Sheriff Arpaio, noting that the same Clinton press corps that has attacked him for saying that Hillary should be in prison at the debate are now silent as Obama attempts to jail Sheriff Arpaio for enforcing the law.

“We have truly gone through the looking glass, where enforcing immigration law is now a crime and breaking that law gets you a free pass into our country.”

Unemployment rate 9.8 percent when labor participation decline of 16-64 year olds included

Oct. 7, 2016, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement on the latest jobs numbers:

“Since 1997, the labor force participation rate for 16-64 year olds, that is, excluding seniors, has declined from 77.4 percent to 73.2 percent, accounting for 8.7 million working age adults who have either left the labor force or not entered on a net basis. These are Americans in their prime working years but are simply not participating, and when some of them do try to participate, the unemployment rate increases, as it did today. If they were included into today’s jobs report in full as unemployed, the unemployment rate would be about 9.8 percent, not 5 percent as reported.”

59 percent of Virginians agree jobs can be brought back to U.S. by reducing participation in trade deals

Oct. 3, 2016, Fairfax, Va.—Virginians strongly support American sovereignty and voters across the Commonwealth sense that current trade deals do a poor job of protecting American interests, a poll conducted on Americans for Limited Government’s behalf by Norman Research and Analytics finds.

The poll was conducted among 1,062 registered voters telephone surveyed on both landlines and mobile devices from Sept. 2 to Sept. 11.

The ramifications for President Obama’s Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) are stark as voters by a 59 percent to 35 percent across all demographic groups agreed with the statement, “We can bring jobs back to America by reducing our nation’s participation in trade deals that make it easy for other countries to flood our markets with cheap goods.”

This sentiment that our nation should adopt a broad set of “America First” policies runs deeply throughout the state with a significant majority wanting lawmakers to worry about the impact to America’s economy when considering or reconsidering trade deals.

Rick Manning, President of Americans for Limited Government argued, “The fact that people from all age, gender, racial and education agree with this basic statement should give strong pause to Congress if it should attempt to pass the TPP during a lame duck session.  While we didn’t micro-target down to this level, it appears that the only segments of the Virginia electorate that might support the TPP are those who are paid to lobby for it by the multi-nationals who would most benefit from the deal.”

The most encouraging aspect of the survey is that it shows the basic American concept of self-determination runs deeply in the electorate with support from conservatives, moderates and self-described liberals.

The polling also explored the general notion of who should make the laws and regulations that impact Americans, with 69 percent to 26 percent agreeing with the statement, “America must have the ability to set its own laws and regulations and not be bound to standards set by foreign nations and international organizations.”

“It is refreshing to see that regardless of political leaning, Virginians are committed to the Constitutional construct that our nation’s laws should be made through the consent of the governed, and not imposed by foreign, unaccountable bodies empowered by trade deals,” Manning continued.

The study clearly demonstrates that the public has little trust that existing trade agreements have been beneficial on the whole, and while respondents do not reject international trade, they are highly skeptical that America’s interests have been served through recent trade deals.

The study concludes by stating, “It is clear that any legislation or proposal that cedes U.S. authority to international bodies and allows those foreign bodies to exert authority over American citizens and commerce will be met with strong opposition. As the debate over various trade arrangements goes forward, these trends and attitudes will be tested in other states.  But using Virginia as a guide, moving to enact the Trans-Pacific Partnership would be a serious political mistake for those advocating it.”

Manning concluded, “That is something for Congress to consider should Speaker Ryan and Leader McConnell push forward with President Obama’s attempt to rewrite the rules of the world’s economy by jamming the TPP down the public’s throats after the election. Every member of Congress should tell their constituents now, how they would vote in a lame duck session and be held accountable to that promise.”
