Senate Should Reject Saule Omarova for Comptroller of the Currency

Saule Omarova is the worse choice out of hundreds of bad nominations.

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to the Senate confirmation hearing for Saule Omarova, President Joe Biden’s nominee for the office of the Comptroller of the Currency:

“President Joe Biden’s nominee for the office of Comptroller of the Currency, Saule Omarova, is perhaps the worse choice out of hundreds of bad nominations. You see, Ms. Omarova is a genuine Moscow University (not in Idaho), Lenin Scholar who emigrated to the United States in 1991 who is on video saying, ‘There will be no more private bank deposit accounts and all of the deposit accounts will be held directly at the Fed.’

“When this statement is put into the context of an administration that has aggressively sought to have annual transaction reports for every bank account with more than $600, what could go wrong? While most people don’t know what the Comptroller of the Currency does, the position is more than a signature line on the money.  The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency overseas the execution of laws relating to national banks including chartering, regulating and supervising them.

“When combined with the broad powers that the Consumer Finance Protection Board has over the financial services sector, the prospects of a radical appointee in this relatively obscure position poses a real danger to the flow of money through our financial system.

“Ms. Omarova is the exact kind of radical that America does not need and should be rejected by the Senate.”

Democrats Will Own A Government Shutdown

Democrats wanted to run government on partisan basis, they can own the consequences.

Fairfax, Va. – The White House on Thursday began to advise federal agencies to prepare for the first government shutdown of the Covid-19 era and the administration’s Office of Management and Budget is alerting federal agencies that, barring a new appropriations bill, they are expected to execute shutdown plans next week. Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to the developing story:

“Federal government office buildings have been virtually vacant for the past eighteen months because federal workers still haven’t returned from the Covid shutdown.  What’s more, in the past three years, federal workers pay has been guaranteed in the event of a ‘shutdown’ which explains why Speaker Pelosi has had the House of Representatives on recess for all of September.  If there is a ‘government shutdown,’ it lies directly on the doorstep of the Speaker, Majority Leader and the president.  Their on-going choice to take their non-existent majority in the Senate and three vote majority in the House of Representatives and  attempt to fundamentally transform America through it, has created the likely shutdown.  They wanted to run the federal government on a strictly partisan basis, so now they own the consequences of that decision.

“Over the next seven days, Democrats will need to work with Republicans to strike out their extremist agenda and include some policy language that limits government power in a number of areas to fix the chasm of distrust they have created. One obvious area that must be addressed is the Biden threat to ration Covid medicines as a weapon to force compliance with his forced vaccination dictates.

“Sen. Marco Rubio has drafted legislative language to allow local hospitals to order Covid cures such as monoclonal antibodies treatment directly from the manufacturer, rather than having to go through federal or state government. This would cut off Biden’s ability to deny access to medicines to those most in need. The reality of health care rationing under a federal government controlled health care system is now out in the open, and can no longer be denied.

“I would like to see Sen. Rubio’s proposal included as an amendment to any government funding bill under consideration. This would go a significant way toward ending the Biden adminisration’s attempt to ration healthcare by inserting the government between a patient and their doctor.”

Biden attempts to deflect from his administration’s shut down of Trump-era investigation into Covid origins

In response to a CNN investigation that found the Biden administration terminated a Trump-era probe into the possibility of Wuhan lab leak as the origin of the deadly Covid-19 virus, President Biden today released a statement attempting to deflect from his administration’s attempted cover-up.

Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in reaction to the breaking news:

“Today’s statement by Joe Biden is a tacit admission that his administration canceled and then covered up a legitimate State Department investigation into the origins of the Wuhan virus. Biden’s dramatic change in direction clearly shows that his administration is finally taking seriously the calls of Sen. Rand Paul, Sen. Tom Cotton, and Rep. Bill Posey that an investigation must occur. However, having Covid-origin deniers in the administration who have already engaged in a coverup running any investigation is unacceptable. They have already proven they are politically motivated, cannot be trust to run an honest investigation.

“This is why Americans for Limited Government supports HR 834, a bill that would create a non-partisan commission to get to the bottom of the deadly virus that has now killed more than 3.3 million people worldwide.”
