Not Guilty

Nov. 19, 2021, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement reacting to the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse:

“Justice was served in the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse, breathing new life into the presumption of innocence and upholding the fundamental principle of the right to self defense. The jury, which has been subject to death threats and intimidation, has proven they were willing to put that aside to uphold the American system of justice and the presumption of innocence. It is our prayer that they are left alone and able to return to their regular lives as unsung, anonymous heroes defending liberty and the justice system that is essential for the rule of law to prevail.

“The irresponsible major media companies and the President of the United States that each tried and convicted Rittenhouse based upon deliberate misinformation and libel should be held accountable by Mr. Rittenhouse using our nation’s tort system. Let justice be done.”

CBO gives Democrats 367 billion reasons to vote against Biden’s ‘wreckonciliation boondoggle’

CBO score should end this iteration of Biden’s spending bill

Fairfax, Va. –  Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to the Congressional Budget Office announcing the true cost of the Build Back Better spending bill:

“President Biden lied when he stated that his massive Wreckonciliation boondoggle would not cost anything, zero.  That is the conclusion of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) which Biden called the “gold standard” when he was vice president in 2010. The CBO found that Biden’s latest massive spending bill would add $367 billion to the deficit over the next ten years.  And while Biden’s Press Secretary claimed that all economists agree that the bill will not fuel additional inflation, she must not have talked to former Obama economic advisor Stephen Ratner who urged the Biden administration to ‘come clean with voters about the impact of his spending plans on inflation.’

“The impact of the CBO score should end this iteration of the Biden bill as the budget reconciliation process demands that the proposal not add to the deficit.  The CBO just gave House and Senate Democrats, who are increasingly focused on inflation, $367 billion reasons to vote no if the bill should come to a vote.”

Right of self defense on trial as jury weighs Rittenhouse verdict

Nov. 16, 2021, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to ongoing jury deliberations in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial:

“Kyle Rittenhouse defended himself from three violent rioters in a mob that was chasing him last August. This has been one of the clearest cases of self defense ever caught on camera. Almost every assertion by the prosecution about Rittenhouse’s supposed aggression on video was belied by the video shown to the jury. The travesty of this case is that it was tried at all, putting the jurors and the city of Kenosha once again in the crosshairs of even more mob violence should the verdict go against the mob. Unfortunately, this is the natural conclusion of the Antifa and BLM mob violence that beset the country through most of 2020.

“In an ironic note, the local Kenosha prosecutor and the Biden Justice Department, declined to prosecute the officer who shot Jacob Blake, the catalyst of the Kenosha riots. There, they ruled it was reasonable self defense for the officer involved. Yet, Rittenhouse, who clearly was defending himself as well, has been prosecuted because he was a private citizen.”

Senate Should Reject Saule Omarova for Comptroller of the Currency

Saule Omarova is the worse choice out of hundreds of bad nominations.

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to the Senate confirmation hearing for Saule Omarova, President Joe Biden’s nominee for the office of the Comptroller of the Currency:

“President Joe Biden’s nominee for the office of Comptroller of the Currency, Saule Omarova, is perhaps the worse choice out of hundreds of bad nominations. You see, Ms. Omarova is a genuine Moscow University (not in Idaho), Lenin Scholar who emigrated to the United States in 1991 who is on video saying, ‘There will be no more private bank deposit accounts and all of the deposit accounts will be held directly at the Fed.’

“When this statement is put into the context of an administration that has aggressively sought to have annual transaction reports for every bank account with more than $600, what could go wrong? While most people don’t know what the Comptroller of the Currency does, the position is more than a signature line on the money.  The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency overseas the execution of laws relating to national banks including chartering, regulating and supervising them.

“When combined with the broad powers that the Consumer Finance Protection Board has over the financial services sector, the prospects of a radical appointee in this relatively obscure position poses a real danger to the flow of money through our financial system.

“Ms. Omarova is the exact kind of radical that America does not need and should be rejected by the Senate.”

Inflation rises to 6.2 percent annually as Congress just keeps on spending

Nov. 10, 2021, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to inflation rising to 6.2 percent annualized per the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

“The Labor Department’s measurement of price increases in the month of October showed an annual increase of 6.2 percent led by energy inflation which have jumped by 30 percent since November 1, 2020.  When Donald Trump left office in January of 2021, the annual inflation rate was  measured at 1.4 percent.

“Seniors and others on fixed incomes can expect a long, cold winter this year as natural gas and home heating oil prices have skyrocketed more than 40 percent higher due to the Biden anti-energy policies.  It was estimated by the federal government last month that the cost of home heating oil will jump to more than $1,700 this winter with owners of older homes in the Northeast most impacted.  In fact, the states that use the most home heating oil are New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine — all states which voted for Joe Biden with eight out of their ten U.S. Senators supporting Biden’s energy constricting green new deal policies.

“This winter when the media is reporting about a heating oil problem in the Northeast and advocates are urging subsidies, America needs to remember that the misery caused by having to choose between heating your home and feeding your family is a direct consequence of the policies of the politicians these states put into office.  Biden has made energy inflation a primary feature of his domestic policy and unfortunately this winter those on fixed and lower incomes will feel the brunt of it as they suffer while the left worships the false god of global warming.  Policy decisions have consequences, and the current President has chosen to appease the anti-carbon crazies rather than embracing affordable energy solutions put into effect during President Donald Trump’s administration.”

Rittenhouse Criminal Case Implodes

Today’s testimony makes crystal clear Kyle Rittenhouse acted in self-defense

Fairfax, Va. – Gaige Grosskreutz was one of the attackers of Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year. After giving testimony earlier today attempting to paint himself as a victim of Rittenhouse, the witness/attacker admitted today during cross examination he was shot only after he threatened Rittenhouse by pointing a gun at him inches away from his head.

While the prosecution hoped Grosskreutz sketchy testimony would assist their case, the actual testimony supports the defense claim of Rittenhouse acting in self defense after being attacked by a mob.

Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to today’s developments:

“There can be no other conclusion than not guilty by reason of self-defense in the case of Kyle Rittenhouse, the then-17-year old who defended himself against the attack of rioters in Kenosha, WI who now stands trial on murder charges.

“Testimony by the prosecution’s star witness, Gaige Grosskreutz, demonstrates under oath that Rittenhouse was chased by the assailant and only fired at him when the assailant’s handgun was pointed at him. This testimony exonerates Rittenhouse from charges he killed two people. The fact that the prosecution continued with the case with the knowledge of this witness’s sworn testimony, which any honest prosecutor had to have heard before the witness took the stand, makes it clear that Rittenhouse has been prosecuted for political purposes rather than legal ones. Judge Bruce Schroeder should immediately declare a summary judgement of not guilty. There is no reason to continue to put the people of Kenosha and the state of Wisconsin through the emotional tension associated with this trial as the evidence clearly shows that Rittenhouse acted to save his own life.

“The prosecution’s star witness makes is crystal clear that if Rittenhouse did not act in self defense, there is no ability for anyone to defend themselves from a violent, and potentially deadly attack. It is time to free Rittenhouse. At this point continuing the trial would be an extreme misuse of the criminal justice system.

“The only question that remains is who in the prosecutor’s office gets fired for bringing this case forward given the clear evidence that a not guilty verdict was the only possible outcome.”

Virginians love liberty

Tuesday’s election results sends shockwaves through the nation

Fairfax, Va. –  Republicans flipped six House of Delegates seats in Virginia on Tuesday, returning a GOP majority in the House of Delegates. Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction:

“The vote to change the make-up of the House of Delegates is the culmination of work by Virginians for America First and Americans for Limited Government which began in February of 2021. Non-stop volunteer organizing and engagement in the state resulted in both effective voter integrity and turnout efforts.  In the past few weeks, our volunteers have knocked on more than 70,000 doors in twenty swing House of Delegates districts and the response has been gratifying and overwhelming.  Virginians love liberty.  Yesterday’s vote proves that, and should send shockwaves through the nation as the left finds that freedom still rings even as they attempt to squelch it.”

Debunking Democrat Lies About Virginia Absentee Ballots

Democrats throw postal workers  under the bus in attempt to  steal election.

Fairfax, Va. – Virginia Democrats have filed a lawsuit against the United States Postal Service (USPS) complaining about a “delay” of 300,000 mail-in votes just days before election officials and corporate media outlets began priming the public for a scenario in which the results of the gubernatorial election may not be decided on Election Day due to mail-in ballots.

The Elias Law Group, a firm recently hired by the Terry McAuliffe campaign headed by Clinton-allied attorney Marc Elias, filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Democratic Party of Virginia on Friday October 22 against USPS citing a “delay” of over 300 thousand mail-in ballots in the gubernatorial race.

But according to the independent non-profit voter integrity group Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP) there are only 108,000 uncounted absentee ballots in the state. In addition, the USPS spokesperson told the Washington Times,“Our Election Mail processes and procedures are fully operational in Virginia. We are not aware of any processing delays of any ballots within our facilities nor any ballot delivery delays, and we have fully communicated this information to election officials.”

Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to the Democrat’s attempt to steal the Virginia election:

“Attorney Marc Elias, part of the Bill and Hillary Clinton crime syndicate, is up to his usual dirty tricks. Corporate media and partisan election officials are already priming Virginia voters for a post-Election Day debacle in which the winner of the race may be unknowable until the following Friday due to mail-in ballots.

“It is clear Virginia Democrats will stop at nothing to steal this election. They are desperate, because they know this election is a referendum on Joe Biden’s failed presidency and his socialist agenda and they are losing.

“Americans for Limited Government and Virginians for America First have turned over to a number of House of Delegate candidates the names of thousands of absentee ballot filers who are extremely likely to not live at the address where they are registered to vote in violation of Virginia law.  We are strongly encouraging these candidates to request that the identified absentee ballots be held aside as provisional ballots so the respective election officials can determine their legitimacy.”

‘Let’s Go Brandon’ is meaningless if we don’t vote

Vote as if your country depends upon it, because it does.

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to the Nov. 2 gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey:

“Election day is tomorrow, November 2, in the state of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Over the past year, Americans have learned that their local and state elected officials are one of their best safeguards against an avaricious federal government.  If you have a state and/or local election, please vote and do everything in your power to get your like-minded friends and neighbors to do the same.

“In the next 24 hours, seek to get information on your state and local candidates from trusted sources if you don’t know who to vote for, and if you do, share what you know.  It is meaningless to say “Let’s Go Brandon,” if you don’t vote and encourage others to do the same.  In fact, not voting on Tuesday is like saying “Go, Brandon ,Go!” and giving the green light to the left’s fundamental transformation of America.

“So, tomorrow, please vote as if your country depends upon it, because it does.”

State lawmaker takes lead in border security

Arizona state rep. requests legal opinion from state AG on failure of Biden administration to secure border

Fairfax, Va. – Arizona State Representative Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek, Gilbert) has filed a formal request for a legal opinion from the AZ Attorney General on whether or not the federal government has failed—intentionally or unintentionally—to uphold its obligations to protect our state from invasion under Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution.

Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in support of Hoffman:

“Every border state legislator should emulate Arizona State Representative Jake Hoffman in urging their state attorney general to issue an opinion and begin legal action against the Biden administration and its unwillingness to defend the southern border.  Article IV, Section 4 clearly states that the federal government will protect states from invasion.  The Biden administration is not only failing to protect Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas from an invasion, but they are encouraging it.

“Hoffman’s letter outlines a bill of particulars related to the damage the invasion is causing American citizens residing in border states. He points to the more than a thousand percent increase in manslaughters and homicides in the past year along with other glaring crime statistics.  But crime is not a statistic, it is a son who will never see his father again, a daughter dealing with the fallout from being raped, and the parents who are burying their son due to his taking Chinese fentanyl-tainted drugs.

“We have an army of 60,000 people heading north to our border right now.  Their leader has threatened violence against our enforcement officials if they are not let in.  The time is now, and every border state needs to take whatever legal action is at their disposal to repel this violent invasion.  It is outrageous that the Biden administration chooses to not protect our southern border.  Now that border state leaders know this, it is up to them to take the actions needed to protect their state even as the President sits inert in the White House catching up on Golden Girl re-runs.”
