Is Joe Biden the fall guy for Russiagate?

Sept. 27, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to former Vice President Joe Biden’s ironic tweet that “I believe our elections should be decided by the American people — not foreign governments”:

“Former Vice President Joe Biden is either the least self-aware person in modern politics, an outrageous liar or a dupe. Biden was responsible for U.S. policy in Ukraine during the Obama administration, and much of the false narrative about President Donald Trump being a Russian agent came from Ukraine, the United Kingdom and other Western intelligence agencies, which his administration put a bow on and shipped to the FISA court so they could spy on the Trump campaign in 2016. What did Joe Biden know about Russiagate and when did he know it?

“It is likely that the former Vice President both lacks self-awareness and was set up to be a not-so-innocent dupe. What is incredible is that he still doesn’t realize it. At least, when former Washington, D.C. mayor Marion Barry was caught smoking crack in the Vista Hotel, he had the awareness to say, ‘Bitch set me up.’

“At some point, the former Vice President’s advisors need to protect him by cluing him in that he is the worst possible messenger on Ukraine as this scandal highlights his own culpability and avarice to the benefit of Democratic Party rivals. If there’s one good thing to come from this, it is that Joe Biden is being exposed as someone completely incapable of performing the most basic duties of the Presidency before a vote is ever cast. A note to Hollywood, Lee Majors is still available to play Biden in the movie.”

If Pelosi wants impeachment, then the House should vote

Sept. 27, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging House Democrats to go on the record on an impeachment inquiry:

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s choice to independently launch impeachment ‘proceedings’ violates one of the primary functions that the House majority is supposed to perform — to vote on matters of major import. It is obvious why Democrats in the House are reluctant to have a vote on their crumbling inquiry itself, as they know it is a kamikaze mission for the political futures of vulnerable members. But it is inexcusable for them to hide behind Speaker Pelosi when it comes to a matter as weighty as impeachment. Those Democrats who are too afraid to vote on an opening impeachment inquiry should be prime nominees for a new book titled ‘Profiles in Cowardice.’ If Democrats are not willing to vote, then they should just shut up.”

Climate Strike excuse for brainwashed kids to skip school

Sept. 27, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement on today’s so-called “Climate Strike”:

“Apparently, the left feels the need to organize a few more global warming protests before cold weather arrives and takes all of the fun out of them. Regardless, America should not be lectured about the urgency of addressing climate change by a bunch of brainwashed kids looking for an excuse to get out of class or by hypocrites like Tom Steyer who built his fortune by investing in fossil fuels. Nor should anyone support a carbon tax being pushed by billionaires like John Arnold who built his fortune speculating in natural gas and tore down a historic, old mansion to build himself a new 20,000 sq. ft. mansion. If the left is going to sell the American people on climate change, they’re going to have to find some more credible spokespeople — and funders.”

Another win by President Trump as Universal Postal Union agrees to allow U.S. to set inbound rates on international mail

Sept. 26, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement praising President Donald Trump for getting the Universal Postal Union to agree to allow the U.S. to set its own inbound postage rates for international mail:

“President Donald Trump just notched another win for America: the Universal Postal Union just held an emergency meeting and agreed to allow the U.S. to set our own inbound postage rates on international mail. The meeting was called in response to Trump’s threat to leave the union over postal rates. For years, U.S. postal customers have been subsidizing postage for Chinese companies making it cheaper to mail packages from Beijing to Texas than from Buffalo to Texas — and killing American jobs in the process. Bill Clinton did nothing to address this obvious case of unfairness; George W. Bush did nothing; and Barack Obama did nothing. But now it’s going to stop, thanks to President Trump.”

Speaker Pelosi has lost legitimacy and should resign

Sept. 26, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in urging House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to resign:

“Speaker Pelosi has violated the very essence of being the Speaker of the whole House of Representatives and instead has turned her position into nothing more than a political hitman. She should be ashamed of moving forward with impeachment proceedings based upon presidential actions that we now know are both legal and an important part of the President’s job to conduct foreign policy. For the past two-and-a-half years, Democrats have been determined to run out the clock on President Trump’s first term with fake charges of treason generated by the rogue, politically weaponized intelligence community. America is tired of this ongoing abuse of power by those determined to take down President Trump and their willing accomplices in the House and Senate, and Speaker Pelosi lost her legitimate voice as the leader of the House through her actions over the past few days and should resign for the good of the country.”

Presidents are supposed to talk with world leaders and conduct foreign affairs, even President Trump

Sept. 25, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to the release of the transcript of President Donald Trump’s July conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky:

“Nancy Pelosi’s Ukrainian hissy fit is straight from the normal Democratic playbook. Joe Biden’s hand was caught in the Ukrainian cookie jar, so to distract from the obvious quid pro quo engaged in by Biden to protect his son, the Democrats are desperate to have a Trump-Ukraine controversy. This is exactly what they did when launched the entire Russiagate scam in order to distract from Hillary Clinton’s scandals including her email server and Russian uranium sales.

“Let’s be clear. President Trump did nothing wrong. The transcript is clear that there was no pressure and certainly no conditioning of military aid. Trump asked for legal assistance from Ukraine working with Attorney General William Barr’s investigation into the Russiagate witch hunt and Zelensky said he would give it. It is President Trump’s job to speak with world leaders. It is his job to speak about mutual concerns with those leaders. It is his job to ask for Ukrainian help in domestic investigations, as he did related to Attorney General Barr’s attempt to get to the bottom of Ukrainian involvement in Democrats’ false allegations that Trump was a Russian agent. Furthermore, the Ukrainian president was perfectly okay when he asked President Trump about legal assistance from the Justice Department to root out corruption in Ukraine.

“The bottom line on this transcript is that world leaders speak candidly in their discussions, and it is necessary in the conduct of foreign affairs, and it is a shame that once again, anonymous intelligence sources, using second-hand information, created a firestorm where no fire existed.”

Pelosi proposes impeaching Trump for denouncing Obama-Biden-led corruption in Ukraine

Sept. 24, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s announcement of impeachment proceedings of President Donald Trump:

“Only Nancy Pelosi could learn Vice President Joe Biden engaged in a blatant abuse of power in Ukraine to protect his son from potential prosecution and decide that it is grounds to impeach President Trump for denouncing such corruption even if Americans are involved.”

San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle should be held to Clean Water Act standards as human waste pollutes their waterways

Sept. 19, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in reaction to President Donald Trump calling on the EPA to take Clean Water Act action against west coast cities that put human waste into natural waterways:

“In March of 2018, San Diego County, California cities of Imperial Beach and Chula Vista sued the International Boundary & Water Commission-United States Section and Veolia Water North America West over the ‘devastating pollution discharges’ from the Tijuana River. Last night, President Trump stated that he anticipated that the United States Environmental Protection Agency will take action against San Francisco and potentially, Los Angeles, which have exacerbated a homeless problem to such an extent that they are polluting the Pacific Ocean with drug needles and raw human waste.

“While some might laugh at the notion that the washing of raw human waste into the San Francisco Bay should be cited by the EPA, the truth is that the effects can be catastrophic.  Just last year in Seattle, Washington (which should be in line for EPA sanction as well), opioids were found in mussels pulled from the Puget Sound.  Mussels, which filter sediment for nutrition, became contaminated due to the washing to raw human waste from a drug addicted homeless population directly into the Sound.

“It is beyond ironic that the far-left urban policies of cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle are creating an environmental disaster for the coastal sea life which these same politicians claim to revere.  An EPA lawsuit holding these eco-socialist elites to the same standards which they would hold a private company should create an existential values clash on the left coast.  And hopefully, they will become ‘woke’ to the reality that their urban policies fail to serve any of their purported values.”

President Trump keeps promise to secure southern border as wall goes up

Sept. 19, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement praising President Donald Trump for honoring his campaign commitment to build a border wall:

“ALG commends President Trump for continuing to fight against overwhelming odds to keep his promise to build the wall. Despite the efforts of Congressional obstructionists to keep our borders open to drug cartels and human traffickers, progress on the wall is finally being made. So far, 66 miles of border wall have been constructed to replace dilapidated barriers; 167 miles of border wall are under construction; and it’s expected that 450 miles of border wall will be completed by the end of next year. Furthermore, the 66 miles of new border wall is already proving its value: border crossings in that area have dropped by 86 percent. If the obstructionists in Congress truly cared about their constituents, they’d put aside their narrow interests and join President Trump in securing our border.”

ALG urges no corn cave

Sept. 19, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging President Donald Trump to extend exemptions to oil refineries that are financially harmed by the requirements under the Renewable Fuel Standard:

“President Trump has wisely provided exemptions for 33 oil refineries that were in danger of financial ruin based upon the out of control ethanol requirements within the Renewable Fuel Standard. Given the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil processing facilities, it is more important than ever to not only retain but increase our own fuel refining capacity. While corn state politicians are demanding more federally mandated corn purchases to turn food into fuel, President Trump should just say no. If it is decided to accommodate these political demands, the administration should at the very least create RINS caps to prevent arbitrary federal mandates from harming our domestic oil refining capacity.”
