Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to the Biden administration’s attempt to induct essential workers of COVID-19 into the Labor Hall of Fame.

“How dare the Biden Labor Department pretend to honor “essential workers of COVID-19 into the Labor Hall of Fame” when that same Labor Department is attempting to use OSHA to force the firing of up to 30 percent of those very workers.  Our health care workers deserve the honor, but the Biden administration should be in the Hall of Shame for their attempt to fire those very heroes who saved hundreds of thousands, if not millions of lives over the past 19 months.”

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to the Bureau of Labor Statistics August Producer Price Indexes which showed on an unadjusted basis, the final demand index rose 8.3 percent for the 12 months ended in August, the largest advance since 12-month data were first calculated in November 2010:

“The Producer Price Index is a precursor to what retail prices will be doing in months ahead, and the August report is more bad news. The 8.3 percent annual increase in final demand signals that Americans will be paying much more for goods and services in coming months and verifies what everyone who pays their own bills already knows, Joe Biden’s America is a much more expensive place to live and it is going to get worse.

“It is time for Congress to just put a stop to the madness and refuse to pass the budget reconciliation bill. Our nation cannot afford to hit the accelerator when we are already feeling the inflation pain from our prior debt excesses.”

Arizona Attorney General Rejects Tucson’s Covid Vaccine Mandate

Every American has the fundamental right to make their own choices when it comes to vaccines

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to an official finding by Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich on Tuesday stating that a Tucson city ordinance requiring city employees get Covid vaccinated or face suspension is illegal:

“The city was in clear violation of a law passed by state lawmakers in June which specifically prohibits state and local governments from requiring any person to be vaccinated for Covid.

“We applaud AG Mark Brnovich for standing up for the rule of law. Progressive, power-hungry politicians have trampled on our civil liberties and individual freedoms during this pandemic. We need more elected officials fighting back against this unconstitutional takeover of our country.

“While it is true the state law doesn’t take effect until the end of September, Brnovich was right to put a halt to vaccine mandates now. An employee forced to obtain a vaccine now cannot go back and undo any harm that might occur.

“Americans for Limited Government is fighting these government mandates across the country. So far, our supporters have sent one million emails to local, state, and federal lawmakers rejecting Covid vaccine mandates and passports.

“We need more lawmakers to stand up like Brnovich to protect our freedoms. This is not a case against vaccines, just against vaccine mandates. Every American has the fundamental right to make their own choices when it comes to vaccines, and what they choose to do is no one’s business, least of all the government’s.”

Background:

In a letter to city officials, the solicitor general, writing for Brnovich, said the Aug. 13 vote by the Tucson City Council directly conflicts with a statute approved in June by state lawmakers. It specifically prohibits state and local governments from requiring any person to be vaccinated for Covid.

The letter states that strictly speaking, SB1824 does not take effect until Sept. 29. But the attorney general wants an immediate halt to prevent what he said could be harm to city workers who are forced to roll up their sleeves, even for a law not yet in effect.

“Nothing is more coercive than a government mandate to do something that’s soon going to become illegal,” Brnovich told Capitol Media Services.

Biden Education Secretary Plays Politics with Mask Mandates

 Biden Administration Should Investigate NYC’s Racially Discriminatory Covid Restrictions 

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in reaction to breaking news that the Biden Department of Education has launched civil rights probes against five Republican-led states that banned mask mandates in public institutions.

“Given the fact that African-Americans are significantly less likely to get the COVID vaccine than other demographic groups, if the Biden Administration were actually concerned about civil rights, they would open a probe of every organization that is mandating vaccines for entrance or participation.

“On the mask front, the Americans with Disability Act requires that accommodations be made for people with breathing diseases, such as asthma, who cannot wear masks. They are a protected group under the law. So, once again, any probe under the law must be of those who are violating the rights of people with disabilities rather than states which are making masks an individual choice.

“Finally, I will take the Justice Department’s concern about COVID-related civil rights abuses the moment they serve former Governor Andrew Cuomo a subpoena to testify about his nursing home policies which led to tens of thousands of elderly deaths. The Cuomo policies were state-sanctioned senior abuse and a full and complete federal investigation should be undertaken to determine if Cuomo was deliberately targeting seniors to die or if he was just an incompetent boob who was so worried about his Emmy-winning performances that he didn’t care that he was killing many of the most vulnerable seniors in the state so long as his make-up was right in his daily press conference reality show.”

The department’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) sent letters to education leaders in Oklahoma, South Carolina, Iowa, Tennessee, and Utah. The recipients did not include Florida or Texas, whose governors have been battling school districts in their states over mask requirements for weeks. However, the agency said it is “closely monitoring” the conduct of those states and is prepared to take action against them if warranted.

Biden’s DoD Celebrates Women’s Equality Day With Fun Run, While Afghan Women Run for Their Lives

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning issued the following statement in reaction to news that President Biden’s Department of Defense will celebrate Women’s Equality Day with a 5K run at Scott Air Force Base in southern Illinois, while women in Afghanistan face brutal subjugation at the hands of the Taliban following the disastrous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan:

“Only the Biden Department of Defense could announce their commitment to women’s equality and diversity while having a stand down order for U.S. troops in Afghanistan who could be rescuing women allied with America against the terrors of the Taliban. Americans pay over $700 billion each year for a military that protects freedom, both domestic and abroad.

“The unwillingness of the Biden administration to use that military to rescue Americans trapped in Afghanistan, effectively sentencing them to death, is an astonishing betrayal of the sacred trust they have been given to represent our nation around the world.

“The sad fact is, American-allied Afghan women are running for their lives while the Pentagon is hosting a fun run for privileged American women. This should not be misconstrued as a criticism of our troops on the ground in Afghanistan who are doing all they are allowed to do to save lives. If their bosses in D.C. had that same courage and commitment to freedom, we would not be fleeing in Afghanistan in an imposed retreat.”

Biden needs to lead by letting the American soldiers and Marines do their jobs

Aug. 20, 2021, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging President Joe Biden to allow the U.S. military to rescue every American and American ally that is trapped in Afghanistan:

“The chaos at Kabul Airport is not a plan. Trusting the Taliban is not a plan.  Today’s statement by President Biden was filled with promises and as one reporter stated, misrepresentations, that are neither real nor being kept.  The Brits, French and Germans are all getting their people out of Afghanistan by sending their troops to get them and bring them to the airport.  Commander-in-Chief Biden has ordered our soldiers to stay at the airport hoping that our citizens and allies can get safely to the airport without being murdered.  This is, for many of these people, a death sentence.  We will either leave Afghanistan with our heads held high or tails between our legs.  The only way to show the world that America is honorable and keeps our commitments is to boldly rescue our citizens and allies letting the Taliban know that any intervention will be met with overwhelming deadly force unlike anything they have experienced in the past twenty years.  We are America, it is about time Joe Biden wakes up and starts acting like it and leads.

“This photo of an American Marine inside the wire at Kabul Airport encapsulates why our men and women who serve our nation proudly are the finest fighting force in the world.  The compassion for the least of these combined with the determination to protect freedom is to be treasured.  Thank you to all of those whose lives are on the line trying to get both our American citizens and our Afghan allies who wish to leave out.

“Further, Biden ordered our men and women to go to Afghanistan and they went.  The sad truth is that they occupy a position that is not defensible, and their safe withdrawal will be extremely difficult when the operation ends.  It is shameful that American planes have already not taken out the anti-aircraft guns left behind and resumed military flights over the country.  It is shameful that General Milley shut down the secure Baghram Air Force Base, outside of Kabul in favor of trying to exit using a public airport in the center of the city.  It would be even more shameful if they don’t take every measure to get Americans and our allies out.  This would involve risk as those soldiers pictured above may be making patrols to get people and bring them to safety. Any loss of life that accompanied these missions would be tragic and completely the fault of those who put them in this untenable position.  But it would be a dereliction of duty to the highest order to not allow these men and women the ability to do this job.  This entails providing these extraordinary American soldiers with the tools to do the mission swiftly, efficiently and as safely as possible.  It entails giving them the freedom to act based upon what is happening on the ground as opposed to waiting for DC to decide.  And it will likely entail having the guts to send more Americans into harm’s way in order to get our people out of country.

“If anyone can accomplish this Herculean mission to save tens of thousands of lives and America’s sacred honor, it is the American soldiers and Marines who every day makes the seemingly impossible common place.”

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning issued the following statement in reaction to breaking news out of the Pentagon where Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said he “doesn’t have the capacity to escort stranded Americans to Kabul Airport.”

“This is grounds for the impeachment of Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. The Pentagon budget for 2021 is $7o5.4 billion.  The only reason the Defense Department exists is to protect American interests abroad and secure our borders.  They clearly are not at the border as the invasion from the south continues with more than 200,000 illegals apprehended and sent inland by the illegal immigration enablers at Biden’s Department of Homeland Security. Now it appears saving American lives in a country where Austin played a major role in botching the withdrawal is beyond his ability.

“The British are getting their people out because their Prime Minister has the will to get it done. The only thing missing from the Biden Pentagon is the willingness to use our vast military capabilities. The problem with the entire failed Biden team is that they lack the will to protect thousands of American lives, not to mention tens of thousands of in-country allies.  If the Department of Defense won’t respond in this situation, I cannot imagine one where they would respond.

“The message to the world is clear, if America won’t protect her own citizens, she certainly cannot be counted on to protect anyone else’s.”

ALG to Congress: Reject Democrat Election Takeover Act II

“H.R. 4, the Federal Election Takeover Act Version II, is a desperate attempt to change federal election laws in such a way that Democrats can avoid being wiped out in next years general election.

“H.R. 4 would empower the Biden Justice Department to review every state and local election change down to the locations of drop boxes or voting locations.  Given the Justice Department’s attempted legal intervention in the Arizona 2020 election audit and long-term opposition to basic voter identification requirements and ballot security measures, these bureaucrats cannot be trusted with this power.

War on Terrorism ended. Terrorists won.

Joe Biden solely and completely bears responsibility for the collapse of Afghanistan.

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning issued the following statement in response to unfolding events in Afghanistan and the ongoing fallout of  Joe Biden’s presidency:

“August 15, 2021 is the day that the war on terrorism ended. The terrorists won.  The horrific sight of Americans being evacuated by helicopter off of the roof of the US Embassy in Kabul as the Taliban, which were the genesis of the attack on the Twin Towers, took Afghanistan’s capitol city is eerily reminiscent of the fall of Saigon, 1975. The Afghans who allied themselves with America are being abandoned to be slaughtered by an enemy that has neither compassion nor mercy.  Another Islamic state is being created dedicated to the subjugation of all non-Muslims and Joe Biden is its author through his blithering incompetence.

“Biden solely and completely bears responsibility for the collapse of Afghanistan as every decision he made leading up to today accelerated its fall.  In a sane time, his abject failure would cause universal calls for him to resign or be impeached.  Today, his Vice President tweeted “Get Vaccinated” demonstrating that is not an option as she is either not even aware of what is going on in the world or worse, is aware and chooses to ignore it.

“There is never a good time for the nation that is the leader of the free world to be led by those who hate the very freedoms that others aspire to, but seven months of President Biden has set the world on fire.

“Beyond Kabul, Biden’s plea for Saudi Arabia to pump more oil while he shutters domestic pipelines and oil production demonstrates how disconnected this administration is from the impacts of its own policies.  The southern border is overwhelmed by illegal immigrants, a record 200,000+ in July alone after Biden rescinded Trump’s policies that were working and Democrats in Congress dangle amnesty to encourage the flood.  And he is crippling the U.S. economy through his ongoing spending fueling rampant inflation which is driving up the cost of virtually everything at a pace not seen since the Carter era.

“The world is a far more dangerous place today than it was on January 19, 2021.  Incredibly, it only took seven months for a geriatric, befuddled president and his far left handlers to screw it up.  Pray for America and the world because the transformation that is occurring is  a disaster.”

Republicans who voted for $1.2 trillion ‘infrastructure’ bill got played

Voters must hold big spending Republican senators accountable for enabling the likely passage of the additional $3.5 spending bill

Fairfax, Va. – Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in reaction to the Senate passage of the $1.2 trillion so-called infrastructure spending bill and how it affects the additional Democrat spending bill they plan to pass on a partisan vote through budget reconciliation:

“Yesterday’s announcement by Bernie Sanders, the Socialist senator from Vermont, laying out the framework for a $3.5 trillion far-left wish list spending bill should come as no surprise to Senate Republicans who just voted for the so-called infrastructure bill. Sanders’ framework puts in place much of the Green New Deal, attempts to phase out every car that runs on gas, would hire tens of thousands of environmental activists under the guise of a ‘Climate Conservation Corps’ to advocate against the free-enterprise system and would give amnesty with a glide path to citizenship for millions of illegal aliens. Normally, this kind of legislation could be dismissed, but we don’t live in normal times.

“Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has already said he plans to pass this latest assault on America on a strictly partisan basis. Expect to hear howls of opposition from the very same Senate Republicans who voted for the bi-partisan so-called infrastructure spending bill. The truth is, every single one of them knew that the $3.5 trillion partisan bill would not pass the House of Representatives without the bi-partisan bill also having passed. The 19 Republicans who voted for the bi-partisan bill effectively enabled the Green New Deal wish list to have a strong chance of passage. Their constituents should hold them accountable.”
