Fairfax, Va. – Rick Manning, president of Americans for Limited Government, issued the following statement in reaction to tonight’s presidential debate in which President Trump told Joe Biden, “China ate your lunch, Joe” in reference to Biden’s China First policies.
“For almost 50 years Biden has supported policies that have benefitted China and hurt American workers.
“As a senator twenty years ago, Biden supported giving communist China most favored nation trade status by voting for permanent normalized trade relations with Beijing.
“He supported policies that sent U.S. manufacturing jobs overseas. In fact, entire plants have been uprooted and moved to China in search of cheap labor, while Biden mouthed the words fed to him by the multi-national companies who most benefitted from outsourcing America’s manufacturing sector and the jobs it created.
“Biden has been silent about the child and slave labor findings of the U.S. Department of Labor, ignoring that the cheap labor he has advocated is really provided in many cases by children and oppressed minorities and political prisoners in one of the most oppressive countries in the world.
“Rather than being concerned about the American job drain to China, Biden negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding in 2013 with China giving Chinese companies access to the U.S. capital markets without conforming to American laws on transparency. This single act has led to billions upon billions of dollars being transferred to China, allowing them to engage in almost unprecedented military build-up that threatens the United States and our pacific allies. In addition, because there is no way to know the true value of these companies, American investors are vulnerable to fraud.
“The financial link between former vice president Biden and China is obvious, though relatively unreported. After traveling to China aboard Air Force Two with his father, Hunter Biden walked away with a billion-dollar investment deal funded by the Chinese. The investment company is supposed to find U.S. assets for China to buy and generally make it easier for U.S. capital to flow to China. A great deal for the Chinese and the younger Biden which should excite those who believe in Biden’s China First policies.
“When ‘Lunch Bucket Joe’ dismissed concerns about unfair Chinese competition, by saying, “Come on, man!” he is either willfully ignorant, corrupt to the core, or stuck in a twentieth century foreign policy that has no relevance to the challenges and Sino-American relations today.
