June 5, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement praising President Donald Trump’s strategy to secure rare earth minerals for the U.S., and urged cosponsors for the National Strategic and Critical Minerals Production Act:
“We praise Trump’s actions to make it easier to mine rare earth minerals in the U.S., which are critical to national security and building the advanced weapons systems to keep us several steps ahead of our adversaries. The next step is for Congress to pass the National Strategic and Critical Minerals Production Act that will allow more rapid development of vital rare earth mining. Every member of Congress who has sworn to pledge and uphold the Constitution of the United States should immediately cosponsor this critical legislation. There is no excuse to continue to allow China to use rare earth minerals to extort the United States of America.”
