March 15, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in support of President Donald Trump vetoing a resolution overturning his national emergency declaration on the southern border:
“President Trump did the right thing by vetoing the resolution that sought to stop him from building the wall. It is unconscionable for anyone to think that the President does not have a constitutional and legal right to declare an emergency on an issue that directly impacts America’s sovereignty and national security as the integrity of its borders. We urge Americans to contact their Congressmen and Senators and tell them to sustain the President’s veto in order to address this emergency and humanitarian crisis. Americans for Limited Government has launched SustainTheVeto.org to make it easy for folks to contact their representatives.”
