Unions continue to sue the Trump administration, bankroll Democrats, and fund redistricting efforts to defeat Republicans, even as some in the GOP court labor union support.
Oct. 26, 2026—Americans for Limited Government (ALG) today released a new issue brief, “Union Bosses Turn on MAGA”, documenting how union bosses continue to sue President Trump, bankroll Democrats, and undermine the America First agenda even as some Republicans seek closer ties with organized labor.
“Union bosses want Republican votes in Congress, but they’re spending union dues attacking President Trump, funding Democrats, and undermining the America First agenda,” said Americans for Limited Government Executive Director Robert Romano. “Republicans shouldn’t reward organizations that are actively working against them.”
“Unions talk a good game about reaching across the aisle, but the numbers tell a different story,” said Romano. “Given this record, it makes little sense for Republicans to support legislation like the Faster Labor Contracts Act, which would give even more power and money to union bosses who continue to sue, outspend, and campaign against the President and his agenda.”
This report is the latest in ALG’s series examining how union leadership continues to push priorities at odds with President Trump’s agenda and the concerns of many rank-and-file workers.
