ALG Urges Senate Passage Of $9.4 Billion Rescissions Package

June 13, 2025, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government Executive Director Robert Romano today issued the following statement urging the Senate to adopt the $9.4 billion rescissions package:

“The House-passed $9.4 billion rescissions package will cut $8.4 billion in foreign aid and another $1 billion from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, canceling needless propaganda and aid operations that are harmful to U.S. interests at home and abroad. For too long, the U.S. has funded at taxpayer expense people who hate our guts, think America is evil and wish us harm. USAID in particular has been used to funnel money into censorship of American citizens and into supporting governments abroad that are adverse to U.S. interests and values. The time has come for Congress to put the American people first.

“The good news is that rescissions bills only require bare majorities to pass under the expedited procedure and so now there is no excuse for Senate Republicans, who for decades have promised to cut spending but never seem to find anything worth cutting. How about censorship on the American people, foreign aid that funds our enemies and anti-American propaganda? Can we cut that?”
