April 19, 2023, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging the House and Senate to pass House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) Limit, Save and Grow Act:
“House Republicans are putting forward one of the most substantial proposals to limit the size and scope of government in the last decade with their debt ceiling and spending cut legislation as a true path back to fiscal sanity. This legislation not only limits the fiscal growth of government through discretionary spending caps, but also contains provisions that limit the growth of the administrative state, roll back regulations, rescind green subsidies and end Biden’s stranglehold on American energy production.
“This legislation is a tour de force that Republicans in the Senate should embrace wholeheartedly, putting the White House in a position where they will be forced to compromise or run the risk of defaulting on the $31.4 trillion U.S. national debt. Our nation is in trouble and everyone in the world seems to know it, including foreign institutional investors who are cutting treasuries purchases, except for President Biden and his minions.
“House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s boldness in bringing forward this plan provides hope for those of us who believe that America can still be the strongest nation in the world in the 21st Century. Now it’s up to us to fight like crazy to force those who would do nothing in these dangerous times to wake up, do their jobs and defend America’s economic might.”
