ALG praises Sen. Josh Hawley for reported question on Schiff relationship with whistleblower

Jan. 29, 2020, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement responding to Sen. Josh Hawley’s (R-Mo.) plan to ask U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) what his office’s relationship was to the anonymous CIA so-called whistleblower:

“U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff has an absolute responsibility to truthfully answer questions about his office’s relationship with the anonymous CIA so-called whistleblower. The defense has a due process right to all potentially exculpatory evidence in the prosecution’s possession. Schiff’s conundrum is whether he continues the lie that he didn’t know the whistleblower, or admit that he has been withholding evidence the whole time and the entirety of the Ukraine impeachment scheme was born in his office. The irony of Schiff’s conundrum is that while lying to Congress for normal citizens is a crime, members of Congress lying on the floor is not. Either way, however Schiff answers, if witnesses are allowed, it is incumbent that the Senate fully explore either the truthfulness of Schiff’s statement, or the origins of this fake impeachment scandal.”
