May 29, 2019, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement urging the defunding of NPR after it censored the phrases “pro-life” and “partial birth abortion”:
“NPR is a taxpayer funded advocacy group which needs to stand on its own. The Orwellian censoring of descriptions like ‘pro-life’ and ‘partial birth abortion’ in a bid to control the terms of debate demonstrates that NPR advocates rather than reports and there is no excuse for continued funding.”
