July 12, 2018, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to House Democrat efforts to disrupt the testimony of FBI Agent Peter Strzok before a joint session of the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees:
“It is clear that Democrats are participating in a deliberate obstruction of the American people’s ability to learn the truth about the efforts within the FBI to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Their concerted disruption of any reasonable line of questioning of FBI Agent Peter Strzok, whose bias in the Russia investigation is a matter of public knowledge thanks to the OIG report, is the equivalent of a mob attempting to shout down a speaker who they don’t agree with on a college campus. It is understandable why Democrats fear the public learning that FBI Agent Peter Strzok was aggressively involved in an official ‘stop Trump’ effort as it collapses their entire claim that the President is illegitimate due to their false Russia collusion allegations.
“If I were the Democrats, I would not want the public to learn that many of those allegations that triggered this constitutional crisis and disrupted civil discourse actually originated with the Clinton campaign and the DNC in apparent coordination with the Obama DOJ, FBI, CIA and State Department. The more they shout, the more you know they have something to fear. The public owes Chairmen Goodlatte and Gowdy a thank you for their determination to impose transparency on this process over Democrat wailing, and get to the truth.”
