Attorney General Sessions begins Deep State, Fusion GPS house cleaning at DOJ

Dec. 7, 2017, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement praising Attorney General Jeff Sessions for removing the Fusion GPS-tied Bruce Ohr from a high-ranking role in the Justice Department:

“The demotion of a top Justice Department official and his removal from having close proximity to the Office of the Attorney General is a great step in the right direction toward cleaning out those DOJ officials who are connected to the Fusion GPS scandal.  Now former Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr met with Christopher Steele, the author of the discredited Clinton and Democratic National Committee paid for dossier on President Trump during the election campaign, and met with the head of Fusion GPS during the transition between the Obama and Trump administrations.  Given the central role both Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS and Steele played in driving the false Russian campaign collusion narrative, Mr. Ohr’s meetings with them confirm suspicions that high level Justice Department career staff have been integrally involved in attempts to subvert the Trump presidency.

“Today’s move shows that Attorney General Sessions is taking action to drain the political cesspool at the Justice Department created by his Obama Administration predecessors.  It would be my bet that this is the first of many such moves that will be announced in the weeks to come.”
