The Internet is no longer safe

August 7, 2015, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement in response to reports of Russia being suspected of hacking the Joint Chiefs of Staff email server:

“The White House has been hacked, and now the Joint Chiefs of Staff email server. The Internet is no longer safe. At the same time, the Obama administration is prepared to turn over control of the domain name system to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers and global multistakeholders. Congress must act in the 2016 budget to protect U.S. oversight of this critical Internet architecture, without which global communications could be compromised as part of a wider attack on the homeland. This is a bad deal, and jeopardizes national security.”
